RATES & PRICES
The following rates are subject to change at any time before a deposit is received:
1. Case color a shotgun frame, including lite hand polishing....$300
(additional fee for disassembly and reassembly....$100)
2. Additional charge for coloring forend iron with frame....$50
3. Lacquer topcoat over case colors (highly recommended for appearance
and durability).......$20
4. Strip and rust blue set of double barrels (incl. basic hand polishing and lite
bore polish).....$250
5. Rust or hot blue furniture (trigger guard, forend iron, etc.).....$100
6. Nitre blue small parts like screws, safeties and triggers....$10 ea
7. Raise barrel dents......$25 each
8. De-oil, sand and refinish stock set with hand rubbed oil or shellac....$250
9. Fit and install vintage hard rubber butt pad....$60 plus cost of pad
10. Fit and install replacement rubber/plastic butt plate...$35 plus cost of plate (w/o spur)
Other services include replacement of sighting beads, repair or replacement of damaged screws, repair of small cracks and glass bedding, re-soldering loose rib ends, action tightening, and other general gunsmithing services which are billed at $30 per hour, plus parts added.
Barrels or frames with pitting or damage will require hand filing and polishing which will be billed at the hourly rate, in addition to the flat fee. Rust bluing deteriorates from the bottom layer to the top. If your barrels feel smooth but show little brown freckles under the bluing, those freckles will be revealed as pits in the steel once the old bluing is stripped off. Removing even small shallow pits is laborious and time consuming, and will be billed hourly in addition to the flat rate above.
